World Class & NYCFC girls academy partnership Teams will play in ECNL. NYCFC leaving DA and joining with WCFC to play in ECNL starting 2019/20.

New York City FC and World Class FC are pleased to announce the formation of a new strategic partnership to create the NYCFC / World Class FC Girls Youth Academy commencing with the 2019/20 season.

NYCFC and World Class FC will combine resources to form one program and compete exclusively in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) across the U-12 to U-19 age groups. This new direction will expand the Academy’s number of teams.

The teams will train and play at the World Class FC facility in Orangeburg, NY directly across the street from Etihad City Football Academy in NY.

Current players in the Academy system have represented the United States, England, Haiti, Ireland and Uruguay youth national teams while playing for either NYCFC or World Class FC.

Both Clubs are committed to identifying and developing the best local youth soccer players in the New York Metropolitan area and this partnership creates a competitive pathway to the highest levels of the game for local girls.

My daughter plays for NYCFC, but they are leaving the USSDA, so please stop calling them academy teams, it’s embarrassing.

To be precise it is NYCFC who authored the above release. You need to speak directly to them. Here are their contacts:

Sam Cooke Sam.Cooke@nycfc.com, Nicole Chayet Nicole.Chayet@nycfc.com, Woody Wilder Woody.Wilder@nycfc.com, Sam Pugsley Sam.Pugsley@nycfc.com

The word Academy is not owned by US Soccer. Many clubs call themselves Academies

World Class FC is an Academy program just like PDA (Players Development Academy) and FC Stars of Mass, all of which play in the ECNL program. You may have noticed many top girls programs around the country (most recently Crossfire and now NYCFC) have been leaving the DA for ECNL, whcih is the top league in the nation.

“The top league”. (You should have said) “ in my ( your) opinion”
