MLS FINES OF THE WEEK

(I can't think of any sport other than soccer where players are fined for simulation, embellishment and mass confrontation -- what a sport!)

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almirón guilty of simulation/embellishment in the 16th minute of Atlanta’s match against New England on October 6. Almirón has been issued an undisclosed fine for his actions.

Minnesota United FC midfielder Alexi Gómez was found guilty of simulation/embellishment in the 71st minute of Minnesota’s match against the Philadelphia Union on October 6. Gómez has been issued an undisclosed fine for his actions.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found both Sporting Kansas City and the LA Galaxy in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy during the 47th minute of the teams’ match on October 6. Sporting KC, as well as manager and technical director Peter Vermes, have been issued undisclosed fines for the club’s second violation of League policy this season. The LA Galaxy have been issued a warning for the club’s first violation of the League’s policy this season.
