Red Bull Arena Hosts Colombia vs Costa Rica, 2018 World Cup Sides

Red Bull Arena will host 2018 World Cup sides Colombia and Costa Rica for an international friendly on Tuesday, October 16 at 8 p.m., Red Bull Arena and Relevent Sports announced today.

Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Wednesday, September 19 at 10 a.m. via or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Colombia has played several matches at Red Bull Arena, dating back to 2010 when the arena opened. Colombia won their group at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia before falling to England on penalties in the Round of 16. On Colombia's current U.S. trip for the September FIFA break, the squad has included stars such as David Ospina (Arsenal), Davidson Sanchez (Tottenham), Juan Cuadrado (Juventus), and Radamel Falcao (Monaco).

Costa Rica's World Cup run included tough group stage matches against Brazil, Serbia, and Switzerland. The Ticos finished second in Concacaf qualifying to make their fourth World Cup appearance in Russia. Costa Rica is led on the field by Keylor Navas (Real Madrid), Joel Campbell (Frosinone), Johan Venegas (Saprissa) and Bryan Ruiz (Santos).

Since opening in 2010, Red Bull Arena has been a destination for international friendlies, including appearances by the United States Men's & Women's National team, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador and Peru, in addition to numerous top club sides from around the world.
