Really? Why would they ever do that. The teams in NYCSL D1 are 10x better than those in metro.

They should try to recruit the top players from NHP and Northport so they can compete with Alby and EM.

To many leagues, I was told metro supposed to be a higher league then ny club division 1 but clubs put teams where they want so could be some good and decent teams in both. Don’t understand it, AS a Alby parent we would like to play SUSA they quality team.

Metro clubs get a guaranteed slot in every age group regardless of the merits of their individual teams so it's hit or miss what you get there.

So what is the top league at this age range?

If it’s Metro, why isn’t Alby playing there?

Metro a top league? are you serious. metro is just another ec league being sold as something special which it isnt. its a lot of nonsense and a waste of important years which are short enough for the kids. i cant believe the clubs that bought into the metro nonsense. just look at how clubs have been treated

NYCSL Div 1 is the top league. No question. Everything else is just noise. It would be nice if teams didn’t go for the nonsense and start watering down the competition by registering in Metro or LIJSL. EDP is strong too, just too much travel for 10/11 year olds.

Alby still the best team at this age group. By far. NHP getting better every year. Susa disappeared last spring, not sure what happened. They came in 5th place or something like that.

Should be a good year.

Northport club winds up losing players as they get older because they can't complete with academy teams, they don't draw other players from other areas. that team does have a couple of great players that are the team wouldn't surprise me if they head to ALBY or EM

The current leadership at Northport appears to have fallen back into the LIJSL model of town clubs. It is too bad as this club was once close to the top of Long Island, but was never able to fully move out of the LIJSL mode as a few of their administrative folks were/are tethered to LIJSL.

Northport and clubs like dh, KP, etc just can't bring in other kids from other areas to compete. its location Basically only kids from Northport play ....they have some good training and it is a good club for the money. They will be competitive but probably only for a couple more years. Then kids will find other places to play if they want to be serious soccer players.

Have to love people arguing over the best 10 year old soccer teams. Half these kids won't be playing in two years.
