The current leadership at Northport appears to have fallen back into the LIJSL model of town clubs. It is too bad as this club was once close to the top of Long Island, but was never able to fully move out of the LIJSL mode as a few of their administrative folks were/are tethered to LIJSL.
Northport and clubs like dh, KP, etc just can't bring in other kids from other areas to compete. its location Basically only kids from Northport play ....they have some good training and it is a good club for the money. They will be competitive but probably only for a couple more years. Then kids will find other places to play if they want to be serious soccer players.
