NYCSL METRO LEAGUE

The NYCSL METRO LEAGUE is a Club based League, modeled on the NYCSL NPL platform. The METRO LEAGUEe will serve as a pathway for club teams to be promoted to the NYCSL NPL league, as well as for NPL club teams to be relegated to the Metro league.

The Metro League is offered to both BOYS and GIRLS. To be considered for the NYCSL METRO LEAGUE, a club must satisfy all of the following criteria:
Must have competitive teams in either of the following ages groups 2007-2004 and/or 2003-2001
Must have a Director of Coaching
Must have appropriate home fields
Must be in good standing with the league as well as US Club

This Season (Fall 2017/Spring 2018) NYCSL will be introducing the new NYCSL Final Four Championship which will be open to the winners and runners-up in the NYCSL METRO LEAGUE, NYCSL PL Division 1 and the newly formed CCSL PL Division 1. Semifinals will take place on June 9, 2018 with the winners advancing to the finals on June 10, 2018.

In the Fall of 2018, the 2008,2007,2006 & 2005 age groups will begin playing their 2018/19 annual season, consisting of 16-18 matches. Divisional winners will join the FINAL FOUR CHAMPIONSHIP and have the opportunity to progress into US Club Soccer regional and national competitions.

Currently the BOYS divisions are divided into NORTH & SOUTH brackets. Each team plays a HOME/AWAY series with all teams in their bracket & plays each team in the other bracket one time. This minimizes the travel commitment for all clubs.

Currently the GIRLS METRO League consists of one division.

The older age groups (2004,2003 & 2002) matches will begin in the Spring 2019. Those winners will also play in the FINAL FOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

If you would like more information on the METRO LEAGUE, please contact League Director of Coaching, John Curtis at jcurtis@nyclubsoccerleague.com

Have any clubs been promoted from the Metro League into the NYCSL NPL and conversely, has a club been relegated from the NPL to the Metro League?

NPL runs one schedule for Fall and Spring for U12- U14. U15 + will play a few Fall games once the High School season ends. It doesn't reset or realign in the Spring.

Any changes would take place in the Fall.

White Plains, Quickstrike and Atletico were promoted for the current season. Eastern got demoted at the lower age groups with East Meadow moving to ENPL.

Looks like Massapequa and Brentwood could be on borrowed time, with JPSC and maybe AC Connecticut looking like possible candidates for promotion.

Atletico were formerly in NPL as ISA now back in NPL

Barca used thier get of metro jail card and then went directly to Go, bypassing Metro and joined NPL

Princeton and Parsippany also left NPL

I thought if you were on a DA team you could not play on any other teams? I know at least 2 boys in the 2007 age bracket who are staying with their club teams next year and playing on Met OVal thinking they won't get caught. Is this rule no longer in play?

Caught by who, the youth soccer squad?

It's DA policy and the DA clubs are free to look the other way.

Agree. For 2018-19 season EDP National League program now has the top non-Development Academy clubs/teams in the East Region. That has become clear.
