Clarkstown G2006 are heading to Surf Cup in San Diego. I was just checking the Surf Cup schedule and I see Clarkstown is one of the teams.

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard! Why on earth would anyone schlep a bunch of 11 year olds clear across the country, for a soccer showcase? Talk about out of touch parents!!!

This team is so good that it is hard to find competition in Region 1.

Rule #1 on how to rah-rah your 11 year old's soccer team:
Don't ask a question in a post and then answer said question within the same post. I guess whatever is in the water in Clarkstown that makes good soccer players, also makes the parents dumber.

True, had a great season and capped it with a win at Delco beating Susa 4-1, a team that is highly regarded as the top 06 team in the region.

Really? It looks like they lost to a bunch of teams in Region 1, I guess they weren't "so good" that they could hold their own against teams a little older or even Alby 06.

A little older at this age makes a big difference, but why are they playing against teams that are older than them? Why not against 2006 teams? Is it true what the original post is saying, hard to find competitive teams in region 1.

Your comment is dumb. Who cares if they go? Sports is all about experiences and if those parents can afford to send their kids to San Diego let them. It is an amazing experience to travel with your team, something the kids will cherish. Out of touch is you coming on here and bashing them for having fun. I can't tell if its jealousy or you are just a miserable human.

Agreed. If they are capable of funding and competing, why give your opinion if it doesn't affect you? You mean if you had a kid in a similar situation, you would put your foot down and have your kid not participate? as they only one who doesn't go? Of course not. Stop being stupid. It's not your time, money, or business.

I'm actually pretty curious how they do now. I just looked at the site and looked at the teams they are playing and I tend to agree with your assessment that they will get "crushed". We played Clarkstown and they were good. I have no ill will for them, I hope they play well. But again, they didn't strike me as the type of team that is gonna win a tournament like that.

Either way, I wish them luck.

Curious how they do mediocre in league play (granted, the league was EDP division 1) then win very high point tournaments against teams they should have lost to (according to league play). Could be a bunch of reasons, not trying to say they bring in ringers for tournaments. I have no idea who this team is, but I hope they do well, or at least not crushed every game.

Wow starting already, troller. If you knew anything other then to start trouble, Susa is NPL, EM and Alby Pre-ECNL neither will see Susa unless in the same tournament. Which Susa and Em both are applied teams in the EM tourney at the end of the month, where is ALby playing? EM hasn't proven anything yet. Glad to see they can finally sort of be in the same conversation.

They played up in '05 EDP division 1 as an '06 team. But play age appropriate '06 tournaments.

They also have a TOURNAMENT TEAM, slightly different from the regular season roster. This way its a great recruiting tool to be ranked #1.

EM in this age group not worthy of any reference or conversation where class is a topic point. Both on the field and off.

Their TOURNAMENT TEAM was the same roster as their regular season team. The only difference is they have a couple of great 07 girls who didn't play up for the state cup last year. Their 07 team is very good also.

Instead of knocking them how about wishing them luck in their tournament. While some may not agree with flying across the country for a tournament, they are doing it. Good luck!

So is this team made up of 06 and O7 girls. That explains, I always thought Clarkstown G2006 is full of miggets. My daughter's team played against them.
