I'll go you one better. Akeem is also an employee of the IRS...so I guess he helped the Board and himself figure out how to get around the rules and get paid...EMSC thanks you all for your continued financial support, and remember, they are only in it for the kids laugh

I have had my suspicions all along. How a board member who seems to be involved in every decision had no knowledge that other board members where drawing salaries , and leaving the club in a major hole. I'll take it a step further Akeem may of not taken money, but he did give himself two teams to train at $18000 per. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. Specially since his qualifications are extremely questionable. Once again he hired himself and he's untouchable.

Stop talking to yourself Lary

These are all false statements about Akeem and the board. There was no one on the board receiving "salaries" these are just false statements published by someone who has an axe to grind In an attempt to damage reputations.

Here is your problem. I am NOT talking to myself. I NEVER post anonymously. When you see my name attached to a post it is me...otherwise it is one of your fans. So, you feel so strongly that all of this is bull [****], but you hide behind a Verizon cell phone and anonymity. Grow some balls, but punks and liars like you and the rest of the board are what I always expect whenever dealing with the East Meadow board. You folks are an embarrassment to other town clubs, and that is why the surrounding non-profits, and the for-profit clubs are draining your pool of players.

With all the lawyers on your board, especially the highly esteemed, Steve Epstein, why haven't I been served with papers if what I said isn't true? Could it be that truth is an absolute defense against libel, slander, or defamation?

Don't ever make the mistake of ever posting again that the EMSC board wasn't handsomely compensated for their tournament work the last 2 years, or I will drop a dime and share my concerns to the IG of the IRS. Are we clear?

Not to defend Larry, but if you consult the 2014 form 990 for the East Meadow Soccer Club, you will see that the club paid a total of 35K in various amounts to its board members.

I do have an axe to grind. I have been an EM parent with 4 kids that have played there. I can no longer defend them with all of the good old boys mentality going on over there. I was excited about the changes to the board only to find out that the board members who remained where the ones truly running the show all along. It's just more of the same. All they ever do is defend each other no matter what their paying customers complain about. Grow some balls and clean your house.

My daughter has been at EM for the last six years. The only board member I could pick out of a line-up is Akeem. Never had a need to speak to a board member. Don't know why you would need to. If you don't like the club then leave, join the board or be quiet. It's youth soccer. It's not that important. If your child is not happy find a place where they are. It's simple. The girls that left my daughter's team over the years left because of playing time not because of the money or the trainer or the board. The parents thought their kid was better than they were. That's all. Plain and simple. That's all this board is about, parents who think their kid is great and deserves to be on the field the whole game and when that doesn't happen it's everyone else's fault. Look in the mirror people.

You see the only reason kids left was because of playing time. You are wrong. They leave because they do not like a coach that is constantly screaming at them. And believe it or not they see how a coach favors another kid. So unless you know the real reason keep your comments to yourself!!! clearly you do not know the real reason they leave.

So I guess your child was one of the top kids on the team playing a lot of minutes but couldn't tolerate the coach's constant yelling so you left?

So your child plays a lot , and happens to be one of the trainers favorites. Your advice to the kids who don't play as much , and the coach abuses is to leave. You don't see how that negatively impacts the whole team. Good luck fielding a competitive team with 11 players. Plus the training is so bad, good luck in improving with that trainer. Do yourselves a favor watch the other ecnl teams train. It's night and day. Fools!

Let’s not put lipstick on a pig. Too many times it’s the parents that decide their kid is so much better than they really are and take them to any club that sells them a good story. As another poster said, this is youth soccer. Youth recreational soccer. Few of these players have real talent and will go anywhere with the sport other than still playing for fun. That is TOTALLY acceptable and why youth sports exist. The few that have talent will move on to teams that have other players with talent. But even then, the parents get disappointed when their kid who was the best on their other team becomes just another good player on the new team. They can’t understand why their kid is no longer scoring all the goals and decide it is the coaches fault.

Good players and teams train a specific way and it’s more than laps or dribbling around cones. Those who know something about this game can see it in a second at any practice if the players are training or just occupying time.

When the parents get it into their heads that 99% of the players out there will never play past high school and play for enjoyment, then this stupidity will end.

Unfortunately it will never happen here.

By the time the player is 16 years old it's all about genetics and desire. Two things parents or trainers have no control over.
