GAMES GUIDELINES FOR COACHES - FALL 2003

COMMUNICATION PROCEDURES:

1. Club Officials, Team Officials, Coaches and managers contact the Division Supervisor.
2. The Division Supervisor communicates with the Age Group Coordinator, as required.
3. The Age Group Coordinator communicates with the Saturday or Sunday Boys or Girls Director, as required.
4. The Saturday or Sunday Boys or Girls Director communicates with the Boys or Girls Committee Chairperson.
5. The Boys or Girls Committee Chairperson communicates with the Games Chairperson.
6. The Games Committee Chairperson communicates with the Board of Directors if necessary.

PRIOR TO GAME TIME
Team members should be at the field thirty (30) minutes prior to the scheduled game time in uniform.
This will insure that all games start on time as scheduled.

GAMES
ALL GAMES ARE ON UNLESS canceled by the Division Supervisor, Coordinator and/or the Chairperson of the Games Committee, who shall be the only persons with the authority to do so. If the Supervisor feels the game may be able to be played, he/she shall NOT cancel the game. In this case, BOTH teams must appear on the field and the REFEREE WILL DECIDE the status of the game. If a game is not officially canceled prior to two (2) hours before game time, only the Referee may decide to cancel upon inspection of the field and weather conditions. Any games canceled must be rescheduled within 7 days of cancellation (to be played at a future date) by both coaches. Once a game is re-scheduled it cannot be changed. Any additional game on your schedule must be scheduled (not played) by the second week of the season.

REPORTING THE SCORE

a) The home team is responsible for calling the proper authority (Division Supervisor) on the same day that the game is played. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (BEFORE 6:00PM) to notify him/her of the score and whether or not the Referee was in attendance. Failing to report the score will subject the Club to a Ten dollar ($10.00) assessment.

b) The Division Supervisor is to telephone the League Office between the hours of four (4) and seven (7) PM with the scores of their division.

c) The Division Supervisor must provide an up to date Scorecard, with Standings, to the League Office, his/her Coordinator and each Coach in their division after the fifth (5th) and Final week of games.

IF THE REFEREE FAILS TO APPEAR

a) If a Referee should fail to appear, for a scheduled game, the Adult Supervisors, of the competing teams, must agree upon a person to substitute for the Referee. The substitute need not be a certified Referee. The substitute MUST referee the entire game. The Home Team MUST furnish to the League Office a report of the game and the "Game Roster Forms", within forty-eight (48) hours of the completion of the game. The Home Team will be assessed twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for not furnishing the report. The game MUST be played under PENALTY OF DEFAULT.

b) If the Referee fails to appear for a game in the following age groups, the match must be rescheduled by the Teams: Under 15, 16, 17 and 19.

COACHES EVALUATION OF THE REFEREE’S PERFORMANCE

Coaches should record the name and number of the Referee. Coaches should, on the form provided, submit their evaluation of the Referee's performance.

PLEASE NOTE!!!

ALL teams MUST identify their team captains by his/her wearing an armband.
ALL players MUST wear shinguards.
ALL players MUST be in proper uniform (long boxer shorts worn under shorts is NOT proper)
Referee can prevent player from playing if not in proper uniform.
ALL games MUST be played by December 14, 2003.

THERE WILL BE NO GAME CHANGES!!!
