Larry, do feel u-12's should play two games per week in order to improve their skills? Professionals do not play that much. Surely you know that player development is more based on teaching moments and not games, otherwise in school kids would just do exams over and over again and not bother have the kids do any studying.

I am a parent, not a trainer.

Where do you come up with this stat ? That is ridiculous if a team is playing multiple games. So is a later statement that says that Pro's don't play multiple games (Or whatever it exactly said). Like Larry says, kids have plenty of energy to do this and I will add that the smart coaches will use the additional games AS practices and NOT be all about the "W"

Agreed

Then all the top teams would have to practice a minimum of 4 -5 times a week sometimes more as they all play in multiple competitions !!! Doesn't make sence unless you're saying these teams should only play once a week, no more cup games, no more tournaments and no second league.

That is the point. Doing second leagues and too many tournaments, cup games, etc harms development.

You folks are very funny. More games = more practices? You must be a trainer counting all the additional fees. Another point is are we talking a team of 10 year olds with more energy than they know what to do with or are you referring to the U85 team of the the LIJSL Executive Bunch?

Larry - more games do not equal more practices, practices at this age are more important than games is the point. Lets just say there should be a balance struck. If a team plays LIJSL and RPL and NY Cup and State Cup between September 9th and November 11th (over 9 weeks) the kids on this team will play at a minimum 22 games assuming their team does not advance in State Cup.

Do you think this is in the best interest of the players at this age? If you do then you probably never played soccer.

Take a National Coaching Licence course thats where its from. Training sessions are much more important than games, deal with it mr 10 year old coach. Now having said that, if your team with lots of energy trains 4 days a week, then 2 games on the weekend is PERFECT!

yes I do if they want to play. How about this concept....STOP micromanaging your kids!!

What are you training these 10 year olds for? Kids want to play...PERIOD.

POB is in D1. CSH is out. Most likely they keep Elmont or DH in D1 instead of bumping up Haup.
