My daughter has been wearing Adidas Predators for years now...ever since the first Beckham version. I wish they were $100/Slick. More like twice that. And she wears out about 2 pair per year.

You could be like JC and have 15 different uniforms at u13 from all the teams your kid has been on.

Show me any elite youth girl player that wears these on all of long island.

I don't know what soccer world you inhabit, but young girls that you watch are not the sole arbitors of cleats and soccer equipment. Adidas is huge in Europe always has great cleats, Predator, Copa Mundial, Adizero is just a few. It's like arguing Chevy vs Ford. If you don't like it that doesn't mean it's a tired brand. Hit Adidas as a you tube search and you will find out it is still a youth brand. I believe Adidas is the first to make a jersey with sensors that measure distance, speed, heart rate. Adidas made the World Cup ball they are on the leading edge regarding technology and product line.

Why would anyone wear Adidas in this day and age?

Whenever I see teams with Adidas uniforms I know some old man is making the buying decisions.

numbnuts Addidas is worn by some pretty good players and teams. It's Ok they are not a US company. The world does not revolve around Nike, unless you are a runner.

The point was that Adidas is an old tired brand to the kids, especially girls. Yes they have deep pockets to buy teams and athletes to wear them but they are not the first brand a boy or girl wants to wear.

Brands like Nike and Puma are much more desirable to the youth.

Adidas is to soccer as Lincoln is to cars. The primary customer is old and dying off.

I feel bad when I see a girls club in Adidas when the girls across the board would prefer Puma or Nike.

and BTW Brooks and Asics are the top running brands.

What planet are you from ?

man, when your kid grows up and if ever becomes one of the top players on their age you'll eat your words. they will be asking you to buy them adidas cleats. the 100 dollar classic adidas cleats. i know younger kids are attracted to colorful cleats.. it's cool right? when they get more technical they will look for cleats that brings comfort and good ball handling. in time you will understand newbie.

My post was factual, not knee jerk like yours.

Based on what ? Your Flea Market booth sales

Wow... nuff said about the best brand names. Buy the company stock if you think the brand is the best. Tell your girls to work on the skills, brands don't matter.

based on what? wait until your kid attends events where they play two games in a day and a few training sessions here and there then they'll prefer the copa mundial vs the colorful plastic cleats like nike's. as i have said in time, you will understand.

2 games a day???? Sorry, we don't do that. I did not realize that you still did. The top platforms play one match a day, not two. This speaks to why you are making your lid wear outdated boots.

It is 2012, do you really think technology has not advanced since 1970? The only boot I see on the top tier players is the
Nike Mercurial Vapor. On the boys side I do see some Adidas.

My point was however that old folks are insisting that young girls wear Adidas uniforms when the girls would choose Nile or Puma 9 to 1.

Poster, you are too young to be so old.

You may be right, but put my kids in adidas mundial and they look like athletes not neon endorsement signs. I like my kids to look classy and respect themselves and the game. Black and white all the way. I am sure your daughter brings a pink ball with glitters to training also.

Sign 21 that you're a soccer parent: you argue incessantly about soccer shoes and uniform brands when there are so many other important topics to concern yourself with. You argue so much that you completely throw off the discussion on what started out as a fun thread and has turned into a thread about subjective tastes in gear.

Maybe start a uniform/soccer shoes thread to get your fill on that topic?
