South Huntington Argentina plays Hicksville Explosion. Can anyone stop the SHA inevitable march through FC Westchester and to the Semis?
East Islip Fury and Commack Pride should be locked in an even battle. Who has the edge? Will the winner have any trouble with Scarsdale Pride?
Smithtown Crimson Tide takes on the Massapequa Cosmos. Can Smithtown continue their run or will powerful Massapequa prevail? Does FC Somers have any chance to mount an upset against the winner?

Opinions on any of the above? Predictions?

It will be a fun few weeks.

So it looks like SHA, EI and Mass took care of business this past weekend in the Challenge Cup. :-) On to the quarterfinals!

World Class FC Munnelly @ Smithtown Dynamite
South Huntington Argentina @ FC Westchester Elite
Scarsdale Pride @ East Islip Fury
Massapequa Lady Cosmos @ FC Somers StingRays

Any predictions? Will it be an all Long Island semi-finals? Do any of these teams from the north stand a chance? What do we know about them?

It will be an all Long Island final between SHA and Mass, but we have seen some upsets this season and I would not mind another suprise.
Guy, where are you seriously getting your info from? FC West is going to be a solid LI D1 team? We are D2 and we beat FC West and Smithtown rocked us. Do the math.

Any of the North teams would have beaten Smithtown. World Class is lucky to take them on and shouldn't have any problems.

FC Westchester is the worst of the North. They would likely beat Smithtown, but they don't stand a chance against SHA.

World Class and Somers would have been an even bet against East Islip. East Islip is fortunate to be matched with Scarsdale. They should win, but Scarsdale could surprise if the stars are aligned.

It's not likely that any of the North teams could beat Mass (or SHA). World Class or Somers would have the best chance but it's not likely to happen.

Just an unbiased comment on this for a change....would it be conceivable that the Dix Hills teams was missing key players? Is it conceivable that they didn't go for the kill against teh young guns? Many possiblities. Obviously you've never played competitive organized sports so you can't see different variables affecting an outcome of a game.

I was referring to Smithtown Dynamite, not Smithtown Crimson Tide. Dynamite is in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals so that is why they are being discussed. So as stated, they would lose to FC Westchester, but FC Westchester is not to be considered at the same level as the other teams still remaining, nor most D1 LIJSL teams.

"We'll get off your back" - You mean each one of your personalities? You are the only one who cares.

They had a 10:10 game in Merrick and an 11:40 game in Hicksville. Any team having to run to leave the fields of one game to drive and immediately play another isn't going to be their best the second game. Combine that with the fact that Hicksville is an outstanding U10 team, a close game is not only reasonable, but was to be expected.

What coach schedules games like that 1010am and then 1140am?

Coaches don't schedule games. Coordinators do. And in this case they were both away games, one a cup game and the second the non-lijsl league so who knows what DH was forced to agree to. Either way, the non-lijsl league records are meaningless and the teams often carry extra players on those rosters. DH may simply have not cared what happened in the second game and let their bench get lots of minutes.

Even if there was no first game and they still tied, it wouldn't be a big deal. Hicksville is very good and it's a meaningless game.

Funny how some kids "Parents" left SHA and went to Dix Hills and now they are all over the boards creating havoc, last year it was SHA walking around with the black eye and now you do not see anyone from that team posting anything. Is it possible the parents (or Parent)that went from SHA to Dix Hills is the reason for the clubs bad PR???
