They 13s tied Everton's special guest player laden tournament team who won the whole thing.

Trying to say Who is "best" is a silly exercise. Beachside won the final on PKs by one kick in s.d. phase. Personally I wish Gotsoccer rankings would go away. Beachside's points will go down after the weekend. The will lose the 5000+ points the got last year and only pick up about 4500. The problem with the GS system (apart from its simple existence) is that a 15000 point swing between two teams can turn on a ref decision or a ball hitting post rather than go in. The losing team can then go out, losing the points it won year ago and a new champ can pick up 8000. Ranking should be based on week in week out results over the long haul, not on artificially pumped up point values of tournaments, counting only semi and finalists.

Anonymous Unregistered	Deer Park decided this year they want to tarvel and play in tournaments. They have to pay there dues and play in lower level toyrnaments and try to get some points. They had a good fall and only played two good teams.

I guess rankings is a necessary evil. The tournament need them for seeding purposes. MSC did a good job with that. One has to assume they used gotsoccer rankings to help them out.

The only value of ranking system is to help coaches find events at the right level for their teams. Gotsoccer's method is driven by the profit model, which promotes tournament attendance. Tournaments used to be the main method trough which strong teams sought out high level competition to help them improve. But that is an old model. Regional leagues (other then Region 1 ) can promote regular weekly games at an appropriate level an offer some chance of approaching "best practices" 3:1 practice game ratio and one game on a day. That is the future. I am glad MSC at least dropped the 5 game on a weekend model for finalists.
