He was playing right defense and just getting rid of the ball as soon as he got it. The coach was a total nutcase yelling at him and the rest of the kids. I feel very bad because his parents are such great people and I don't think they realize that this coach destroyed their kid.

Your in the wrong country!

Not really.I have seen it many times. I personally know a kid who completely quit soccer because of his "high level" coach's constant negaitivity and constant yelling at the kids - way too bad, because kids was quite good and loved the sport..

Bobby Knight some say he is the best college basketball coach ever. He was hot blooded.

If a trainer can not be objective and open his eyes to true talent then he is about favors. You can't serve to masters it doesn't work. A true scout in sports is hard to find!!!!

Agreed

Every team at FCW is horrible. Look at the records. What is going on?

FCW's U18 in second place in U.S. Soccer Development Academy League. Both U16s and U18s beat Cosmos this weekend.

Overall, FCW 18s 4 out of 6, U16s 5 out of 6, and their younger teams are all in the bottom half of the table.

Northeast Preacad site shows 97 red bulls outscored two opponents by combined scores of 21-0 over weekend. Why would they do that?

Knowing some of the RBNY 97s and their behavior, I suspect it was because they enjoyed it. Also suspect that they were gunning for next year's academy team.

Or moreso, shouldn't someone start making the point that there are either:

a) too many USSF academies in the NYC area, or
b) too many USSF academies in general that recruit based on $$$ or politics or desperation

Have you ever seen a club thrown out because of horrible records? All I ever see is clubs added.

I would wholeheartedly support there being a USSF academy relegation system in place. If a club continually is beaten the crap out of (shut out continually, 5-0 or more scores by most teams except their compatriots in patheticness), they should be OUT.

Instead, these clubs bring in players for money, either from the players or through funding (Cosmos) and stink it up on the field.

It's embarrassing to see some of these teams play. RBNY 97s definitely have a few quality players, but a lot of fill-ins who are nothing special, and have tempers you wouldn't believe. PDA has the same problem but less so, they seem to keep their players in line more and less politics (but certainly not none).

When you see 13 and 14 year olds with their own webpages showing their soccer exploits, and letting EPL and La Liga agents know where to contact them, they've got chips on their shoulders.

There are a lot of things we could do in life, but choose not to for reasons of integrity, sportsmanship, and because we know the diff between right/wrong. Not impressed.
