People just talk to talk. They went to regionals because one of the states could not field a team after tryouts and roster rules and had to pull out. So who is in line to go?not Garden city. What else do you want to know?
ok, here's what I want to know, seriously: in your honest opinion, of your current fury '98 roster, how many girls will play in college? how many of them will get a scholarship or partial scholarship? And how many will be scholarships to good academic schools? And then how many of those girls who play in college will play professionally or on the WNT after college? really, I'd like your honest opinion. I know some of your players just want the training and competition, but I'm just curious about the scholarship/college aspect.

Ask those same question of your team.

Ok so are the 98's allowed to play in the state cup or not? Is it legal what they did? If it is then so be it. If not then disqualify them. How do you protest it?

This is a U13 thread and you are talking now of what may or may not happen in the future? I have a better question about the present, where do you think this team will do at DELCO against other teams there age. What are the chances they will get out of there bracket? win the semi finals? And then win the finals? Has this team ever achieved any of these goals I just mentioned? You people in Long Island have no clue, you need to go to these tournaments and look at the talent pool before you start talking about the future.

Ask those same question of your team.
Big picture and prize is the 300 D1 schools. As far as top academic schools (including Ivy League) and the significant less off shore competition with women’s sports programs and Title 9 ramifications..... If your kid is on a Premier Team and competes at major tournaments in top 2 brackets 1/2 decently, and your kid is in the 1/3 of most impactful players on team and gets 50+ minutes a game still 2 years from now.... if her grades are in the 90's in 9th, 10th and 11th grade,.....There's a real good chance your kid is getting at least a 1/2 ride to a decent school. FYI, One of Princeton's keepers is from Oceanside LI also played on state ODP team, 90 gpa student - a boy no less - gets a 1/2 ride at one of best schools in country - and more then 1/2 of this Ivy League schools men’s team gets some amount (1/8+) of financial aid and a 1/2 dozen have 1/2 rides!!!! 90 GPA kids!!!!! Same school (Princeton), 104 GPA Valedictorian from LI couldn't get on waiting list - but he only played the Tuba!

I think it would be better to be a big fish on a slightly less spectacular (top 200 in country team) then a bench warmer on a top 25 team! At coaches showcase tounaments coaches can only seee those that are actually playing! And as far as grades go - they want kids that are not going to be academically challenged by the rigors of keeping up grades while training 12 months of the year.

As far as playing in Olympics or even proffesionally and how small this possibility is - I'd guess its like any other sport. Maybe 4 or 5 kids from all of LI go pro and maybe 1 might make Olympics. The scholrship goal - I'd think out of 10 or so top U13 teams on LI x's 17, from those 170 kids, 50-60 will be good enough players, of them maybe 40-50 will have the grades so thats how many U13 girls from LI will get scholorships 4-5 from each team - ranging from token 1/8 to full rides - at all sorts of very decent to excellent schools too - depending if your kid is a 90 student or 99 student will decide where and how much - maybe 10-15 full rides from whole group at most.

As far as playing in college - I'd think near 1/2 of kids from top 10 teams will keep playing - plenty of D2 and D3 programs too - kids from D1 and D2 teams will play in college too - just not near as many....not because there aren't some great players at that level - but its about being noticed too!

Certainly 9=Alby who has played all the best LI teams since U8 belongs in the NYS Cup! How can anyone seriously complain about this team being in state cup - I'm certain no one from RVC will be complaining and they'd have as good of a reason as any to do so - if this argument made any sence whatsoever. Alby "rested and fresh because they don't play same schedule ???? are you kidding? who plays more games then Alby? Or a tougher schedule??? Please - this is a non issue!

What games have they played (outside of state cup, ny cup) in the past 30 days?

They have played ecnl games in the last month. Why does it matter what league they joined to get in?lij, nerp, pres league. You are just looking for something.

If they had joined lij, nerp, pres league like every other team did it would be fine. They signed up to a b/s league that doesn't play any league games in the spring. Oh wait they will be playing their games in the summer. Sure they will.......

We promise we will. Again why do you care??Just hope you domt play them.

EM joined pres league to play state cup. ably chose to go to a bogus league to play state cup. they break the rules all the time. why is everyone so surprised? they know the refs, they have LIJSL by the balls (because of insider influence), they poach, they get passes processed in a flash, schedules changed to accommodate their needs, they do whatever they want. they've always done their own thing because governing soccer bodies, as in life, make special
exceptions for the big guys. The big fish gets what it wants. and then, by getting more favors and concessions, it only snowballs.
how did they go to the regionals when HBC won the NY state cup? because they can! this is a bully organization who holds all the cards, because they are the ones representing the best players out of this LI/eny region. but the soccer authorities don't care HOW this club gets the best players. It's a business. that's all kids soccer at the higher level has become. a business. and albertson is the equivalent of a fortune 100/500 business on LI. they do what they want because they can. and no one will ever stop them because of true visibility the club brings to this region. and for many parents who thing they have a chance for their kid to shine with this business, they soon realize they are just cogs and pawns to support the business so that the real stakeholders thrive. suckers.

Your embarrassing yourself. Why are you obsessed with this. Cant you be happy with your daughters team and her accomplishments? Or maybe you are just another jealous individual. Your jealousy will lead you to nothing but unhappiness. Let it go and enjoy the soccer years with your kid.

This might be the most dumbass post I've seen over the years. These girls are 12-13 yrs old. Do you really think college predictions at this age is appropriate? You must be kidding me. Too much development still needs to take place. Check back at U16 airhead.

You're the dumbass. Albertson starts taking scholarship track at u10, and elevated that discussion at u12 when they knew they were going ecnl, which supposedly attracts more college coaches. So don't play dumb. PR dangles college placement almost from the get-go. Amd watch how many kids suddenly leave their teams at u15/16 to join fury as college showcase time nears. Maybe your kid will be the one who loses their spot to the new kid! Ha ha. Sucka.

A formal complaint should be filed by all the opposing teams. More then just one team needs to speak up.
