the biggest problem with your statement is this contrast between "higher level"IE:BETTER versus a "lower level" of soccer branded as negitive. The Dutch play what I assume you would call higher level soccer and are becoming a second or third teir squad internationally. The Italians often play negitive soccer and are a perennial power house. Getting off 10 consectutive passes in the middle third for no attacking chances is one style of play. Working deep into the corners to generate crosses to central players is another. Direct play to on-rushing attackers is another. I dont think you or anyone who enjoys the game gets to brand one style of play "higher" and there by rendering all others inferior. How is them tomoto's?
