Ridiculous comment. There are many factors that contributed to team placement in R1 Premier/NERP - injuries etc - this Spring. Looking at how teams did for one season condensed in to a small time frame window with inevitable injuries is silly. And, on any given day, teams evenly matched can beat each other.

Having said that, Oakwood and S. Central are strong teams. Indeed, Oakwood is a class team and plays a great brand of football. S. Central less so, but is gutty and has a never-say-die attitude. CFC less so, as its NERP division was considerably weaker than the S. Central bracket. Any one of the top three (3) S. Central bracket teams and perhaps more could have finished atop of the CFC bracket without a question. So, let's not get carried away about CT soccer just yet. Congrats to their teams - no doubt. But, to annoint that state as having cornered the market on football training is the product of a person seeking to stir up trouble or simply the product of a football-stunted mind.

Yes, if you look at it from a standpoint of R1 Premier v. NERP and prior results of HBC, it is a great result. However, HBC has done poorly in R1 this Spring and the bl,oom has come off that rose a bit.

HBC plays hard and fast. They didnt string more than 2 passes together all game.
They dominated the first half by constantly pushing the ball forward. They only had 1 sub and as the game went on and HBC players wore down from all the running, you felt that Albertson was going to find a way to win. Good win for ALBY. HBC needs to play better soccer. They had the better talent and lost.

Yes, from the standpoint of a R1 premier team who has a win less season, 0-4-2 record versus a Nerp team with a 1 win season (1-3-3) WOW that is really a great result-Are you kidding me! Both teams will have a difficult time staying where they are! These teams have gone just about as far they can with their current rosters! The Nerp team had an easy ride to the State quarterfinals! Good Luck!

If this is true then the Qtr Final teams from Long Island are:

Albertson 96 Fury
Brentwood United
Bayport Xtreme
Farmingdale United

Not quite a "David beating Goliath" but the smaller Fury team won most of the battles... both physically and athletically. Fury outside backs and midfielders played real strong.

good or not you are subsidizing the ecnl players who PR gives a free ride to on the all star team. how does it feel knowing your $$$ are paying for someone else to play?

That's how HBC plays and has always played. No interest in playing good soccer or developing players - just looking to get results. Its been quite a fall for daddy Mitch and co.
