What an absurd point to make. This is BU12 soccer, where development is and should be the focus of all teams at this age. What are you going to say if DH wins its quarterfinal State Cup match? Oh, they are on the upswing? Please spare me the unintelligible babble.

Agree, lets not forget its kids we are talking about. hope it was the same with DHH parents. when they win its bashing all over. (look few pages back about Manhattan Villa)

i think DHH, and Elmont should be in top Bracket at Delco. currently delco is in second and Elmont is in third

Wait what? Why are these two teams not in top bracket? Isn't DHH always in top bracket?

Reminder: This is BU12 soccer where development is the key. Delco is an overrated tournament with bracket organizers who really don't have a clue or really care about the placement of teams. It's shame, but a sad reality. So, where a team is placed is often the product of no real thought or planning. In the end, I wouldn't even give it much credit. Just win your bracket/division or whatever at Delco and have the last laugh.

Bracket placement at Delco is often absurd. While some teams often belong in the brackets where they are placed others do not. It is clear having attended Delco many years, that the tournment organizers really don't do their homework or care about proper team placement. They are lazy and often rely upon an indicator that really is not that accurate in assessing the strength of a team. Should DH be in the top bracket at Delco? Probably, but their exclusion should not necessarily be taken as a sleight, for that type of thinking would actually suggest that Delco tournament organizers actually care or know about proper team placement.

Well I think Delco did a fine job placing teams.
- Elmont is not known yet and did not win anything outside LI (no got soccer points ether). should be thankful they got accepted.
- DHH has some GotSoccer pints but didn't do so well in Annandale so maybe they have to be in second tier. as a team we cant keep loosing and claim to be the best. so it ok to be in second bracket, lets go win it and go up next year.

FYI- All team managers received an email with the placement list from the delco tournament. The email stated that team managers should email the tournament if they felt the bracket they were placed in was wrong. Did the Elmont and DH manager do this? (I doubt it, because the torunament organizers moved our team)

Cant speak for DH or Elmont but as a team manager I did request to be moved up a bracket with over a half a dozen reasons why and nothing was done.

I rarely write on here but I felt I needed to say something. I have to agree 100% with the earlier post. Ridiculous that every week it is something about some team being on the decline or on the rise depending on the game they lost or won that weekend. It has been said of MV, GT, DHH, Flames and many more. Let's be real and remember we are talking about 12 year olds. All of these teams will lose dozens of games over the next couple of years. They are not expected to win them all. Hell, the top teams in the world lose games every year. I don’t know the MV & GT teams very well but i do know DHH and Flames fairly well. I know many of their parents and my son plays with many of the kids from these teams in other activities and from what I have observed over the years they are both class acts. I do not believe they come on here bashing other teams and kids. They are competitive teams that want their kids to develop and get better and that is it. I was impressed over the past year that this board was relatively quiet but for some reason the [****] stirrers have come out and it seems like pure jealousy to me. Before you know it, your son’s will be in college and this will be a distant memory. Enjoy the time you have with your kids while you still have it and stop all this BS.

GotSoccer points are a joke at U-12 and even U-13. Often times teams accumulate points in competitions that are nothing more than point grabs and are often no indication whatsoever of how good team really is. I can't tell you how many times my child's team faced a team with a high GotSoccer ranking only to learn the team wasn't really all that good and vice versa.
