And your daughters team is a mirror image of Real Madrid or Barcelona. What is with you idiots! Alby draws from all over LI, them and Impact and RR are extremely good because of that as well as excellent training. They're a really awesome team if you've never seen them! People kill them for not winning out at these top tournaments - just posing great results often just short of winning is some failure to same idiots that actually EXPECT Yankee's to win World Series every year! Merrick and RVC are 2 excellent local club teams that continue to improve and are better than about 100 other teams on age here on LI which is quite an amazing accomplishment too! I'm sure both are very happy to have progressed as they have. Yeah Garden City, RVC and Merrick have proved what we all knew - all 3 are really good teams just not at that same level as Alby still. To say that one of them is this or that - really any negative comment is just silly in the light of the big picture. RVC and EM play a spread out passing game maybe more than Merrick and Garden City who maybe rely more on shut down defense and going big more often - both strategies suit their teams well and likely Garden City, RVC and Merrick stayed true to form against Alby and did their best. I’d love to hear someone post what team from LI could play at same level as 98’s with conviction. Want to watch a real good, even and exciting game - watch Merrick, RVC, Garden City and/or EM play each other. Wanna watch a top national team wup on a team - watch Alby play anyone basically.

Hello. My name is Mr. T. My daughter plays on one of the better teams in the age group. I love soccer, and love to watch not only her team but also other's. I have been doing so since u-10, and know many of the teams, girls, their parents, trainers, etc.It is amazing to see how they have developed. I am a has-been ex-player like many of us. I know this age group very well. Not because i am a sicko, but because I enjoy it, and my daughter enjoy's being around it.

Too much garbage and untrue statements posted on BOTN. I can give truthful, objective and factual commentary. I also have older kids (boy and a girl) having gone thru the Program, so I can give perspective there as well. Mr. T.

Ok, so how funny (and telling) is it that Albertson posts about their glorious victory over Merrick a mere 60 minutes after the game ended last night. lol. so for those who care (probably not most of you, and I don't blame you), here are the facts for the 3 people who do care, since Albertson won't tell you:

1. Game was 0-0 at half time, and game was played all over the field, mostly in the middle, and not on Merrick's end, and Albertson's coach was screaming at his girls for this and still reprimanded them after the game. Say what you want, but at half time, no one on Albertson or their parents were smiling at all.
2. Two goals were really very nice shots/placement. Showed why Albertson is a top academy team with over 20 girls.
3. One goal was in the Merrick goalie's hands and Alby player kicked it out and scored, ref said she never had possession. His ruling. Is what it is.
4. One goal was off a direct kick and bounced around and slipped from goalie's hands in the box, soft goal
5. Albertson played all of their "A" players, a lot of subs and both goalies, while Merrick had just 3 subs on the bench and had a stand-in goalie for this game. She made a nice outstretched diving save on a PK.
6. Albertson is on another level. Of course we know that. Beautiful passing, attack minded. Talented players. Merrick rattled them the entire first half. And in the second half some more. They were down at their end several times throughout the game, by passing, not kicking, the ball. A few times Merrick cleared the ball from the box, so if that's kicking and running, so be it. But when you see Albertson coming at you in the box, it's probably best not to play with it there, right? The funny thing is Albertson did the exact same kick and run several times out of the back! Was strange to see them just boot it. It's true. Anyone who knows the game knows Merrick tried to pass, play, pass back, switch, etc. The difference is, Albertson just does it way better. Merrick also played 3 or 4 in the back and many times pushed up to the midline, trying to play. They were never going to outplay Albertson, but they did come to play the right way. Unfortunately, they grew tired toward the end and Albertson is a very skilled team. You could see the Merrick team losing steam at times. But it was by no means a walk in the park for Albertson. Merrick fought hard the entire time. Two legit goals for Albertson. One very close chance for Merrick in second half. Was it any surprise Albertson was the stronger team? Of course not. But it was nice to see them have to work for it. : )
