You guys can argue and try to reason why or why not all you want on here, after all that is part of the reason for a site like this but it doesn't change the fact that LIJ is going to do whatever they want and the best part is, they don't even need to explain it to anyone.

When Oceanside plays their last game (& most likely wins), the top team will be 8-1-0 with two teams tied for second place 7-2-0. One of them the mighty Alberston. Now what? LIJSL will need to move up 3 teams...

Actually Albertson has a game left as well. If both Albertson and Oceanside win ( which they both should )the standings will be as follows:

Floral Park Fire 8- 1
Albertson Barcelona 7- 1- 1
Uniondale Leones 7- 2
Oceanside Dragons 7- 2

What will LIJSL do?

However, all three teams are not better than Elmont, Hicksville, and Hota. We in N1 know this. The question is whether LIJSL knows it. As for the N2 teams yearning to get into N1, "Be careful for what you wish for".

Actually, that decides it, then. Only 2 go up and 2 go down.

I have been led to believe that LIJSL emphasizes points as opposed to where the team finished (i.e., a third place team with 17 pts is worse off than a fourth place team with 21 points). So two of Hicksville, Hota or Elmont will likely get demoted given that LIJSL will likely have to promote a team with 21 points. The safe N-1 teams will have a much weaker schedule next year if that happens, particularly since the 6th place team in N-2 is the Garden City B team, and the last place team in N-1 is the Garden City A team. Syosset won N-2 last year and will be demoted this year.

What does the schedule have to do with the 2 Garden City teams?

The 5 teams that finished above GC B team all crushed them, so I would say they are substantially better than GC B and probably similar to GC A team

Having seen games involving all these teams, I would say Albertson is best equipped to play in D1. FP will struggle record wise but can compete with RVC, Hicksville, etc. Uniondale and Oceanside would not have fun in D1.

Predictions N1: Farmingdale, NHP, POB, Bellmore, RVC, Hicksville, Elmont, HOTA, FP, Albertson

N2: Syosset, Garden City, Uniondale, Oceanside, Massapequa, HOTA, Jericho, Hempstead, Pt Wash, Merrick

"We in N1 know this" Being in N1 is not a divine right and should have to be earned every season, what if RVC and Hicksville hadn't been promoted last year, I am sure before the fall season you were also spouting "Be careful for what you wish for"......these kids are U-11, you can't possibly tell me you know already that the kids in N1 will still be N1 level this time next year or that kids playing at a lower level will not be able to compete at a higher level.

Between RVC aand Hicksville They managed 1 win and 7 losses against the top four teams in N1. I would not look to them as a success story. Sometimes it is better to keep your team in a place where they can succeed.

I think if Albertson and Oceanside win the last game each has then the top 4 teams in N2 deserve a shot, why not?? 7-2 records deserve to move up. There is movement up and down every season. Who cares if u think Elmont, Hix and HOTA are better.
