As a coach who has coached his own children, it's almost impossible to push other players on your team if your child does not want to be there and lets it be known. There is no problem with him stepping down. He needed to leave for the sake of his daughter and to have time to spend with his family.

The issue is how he handled it and his timing. As the only coach some of the girls have ever had, sending out an email saying he quit a week after telling his team he would be coaching them going into NPL is insulting. The 11 and 12 year old girls who he coached for 6 years obviously meant very little to him or he would have made this decision earlier, let his team know of his decision, finish out the season and assist in an orderly transition. Sending out an email using a child to defend your actions is disgraceful. Forget being a coach, a parent should be shielding their children from this sort of behavior not be used as the justification.

There is no possibilty that a mature man could conclude he had to abandon girls he had coached since they were 5, in two days, because his 12 year old daughter, after a loss, said she didn't want him coaching her any more. If every parent/coach quit immediately after being told by there child they didn't want to play for them, coaching your own child would become a criminal offense.

The way he handled himself and the situation could not have been done any worse and as a parent of one of the children he hurt it is unforgivable.

Wow a real shocker- A Coach coaches a team for about 7 years, apparently does a good job, deals with his daughter's issues, tries to work through it and ends up screwing it all up by exiting in a cowardly manner. That's one side of the story-
So after Coaching a team for all these years he still owes you what? And what do you owe him? And after all those practices and games and after all that time he favored his daughter more than half the time? There's a real shocker, one of the few perks and luxuries a Coach gets to have on a team. WOW. Try Coaching your son/daughter. It's Not always easy. Someone needs to step up and take the reins. ONE girl does not make a team. If the team falls apart becuase of this it's because no one else wanted to step up.

Don't worry sweetheart the team is not falling apart. You are right ONE girl does not make a team, especially one who didn't want to play soccer anyway. And a parent coach who is only interested in his own daughter does not make a team. Now go on your merry way and let the Buzz go back to playing soccer without all the distractions.

D2 also makes sense, but what happened to Farmingdale and Sachem?
Commack has their A1 and A2 team in the same division.

As for D3, the three strongest teams are probably the 3 new ones, the Brooklyn Team, the Mt sinai Team, and SH Argentina playing up.

Thoughts/comments?
Don't underestimate Terryville United and Newfield Dynamites they dominated d3 and have size and skill.

North Babylon won d3 and there was a three way tie for second with Terryville, Newfield and Farmingdale. So what is the point?
