What are you talking about? The DA teams don't play in either NERP or Region 1. And, yes ODP blows in Region I and DA kids are not eligible.

Albertson 97 is not a USSF Dev. Academy team?

None of these teams would do well in R1, or even NERP

That leaves Cosmos, RB, PDA, Alby. PDA and RB are very good indeed. Not sure about Alby or Cosmos.

Take the kids born from August 1 till December 31 1996 off the R1 teams and then compare. Until that happens, this is s stupid discussion.

Part of the problem with a narrow focus of the pre-academy teams is that the bigger the pond the bigger the fish...the smaller the pond the smaller the fish. going from aug to aug to calander year is cosmetic. Bother categories covered a 12 month period. It is not like one was 12 months and the other was 16 months....fine for academy but at the developmental level, which is probably 10 to 14, this has done way more harm than good.

Sorry, but not that impressive outside of a few clubs. Other than Beachside and maybe one or two others, these clubs don't have much of a resume. Before DA, these were 2nd tier clubs with an occasional top team in a single age group.

Think that is a misread: we are talking U14, 8/97--7/98 for USYS, all 1/97 -- 12/97 for P-A . No 96's at all

The OP means I think that even with their 7 month age advantage the P-A teams listed would struggle in R1. Without that, they would struggle in NERP imho.

We know they don't play in those leagues: the discussion was about how they would do if they did. Yes they are the "B" teams: but they comprise around half the DA clubs in the area and are the ones whose inclusion wrecks the credibility of the program. There at least 4 U14 teams outside the DA who would beat them comfortably (playing 7 months up), are just as well coached, play with a positive playing style, etc. etc.

How good are Cosmos and Albertson 97s btw? Haven't seen them play yet.

They give the DA a bad rep.
