Can anyone from Mass relay whether the Cosmos will or will not play in LIJSL next season? It would be a shame not to have them in the combined LIJSL division 1 for the Fall for at least for one season before teams start going off LI.

Teams may not be leaving Long Island. They may stay and play in the NYPL.

You are probably right but it could be a one goal game and a bad ball bounce could be the difference so let the games begin!

Not only will Massapequa not be LIJSL, neither will any ISA, HBC, and possibly other, as these Clubs are placing their TOP team in the NPL.

Not only are they leaving LIJSL, they are leaving ENY State Cup & LI Cup.

They will be playing in the NPL & NYCSL-NY Cup.....

If you want to play the TOP teams in the area (NY,NJ & CT) then you should apply to play in NYCSL NYPL......

Massapequa's top team will not be in LIJSL, actually top 24 players.

The LIJSL top divisions are already watered down with daddy coached, just about average teams. Within a year or two, you wil have d3 and d4 teams playing d1 soccer. What is even worst, you will be playing these teams on the big pitch next fall at age 11/12? Where is the development? Are you ready for some ping-pong soccer? This is so funny, though, cause, I was never a fan, of HBC, ISA, Massapequa, Northport teams, yet they are doing it right. Soon, the LIJSL will be the little league of soccer all across long island. With the money we are paying for travel soccer, we should be focused on raising the standards and placing increased accountability of those who administer soccer programs on Long Island. This should be about what is best for our children and not what is best for the board members and their self serving interests. Are you listening Smithtown, Merrick, Commack, New Hyde Park? This should also be about exposing soccer teams on long island to other regional competition in the area without having to play the same community teams every fall/spring season year after year. Remember, the LIJSL is not the be all, end all.

I am a coach of a top team who is not an NPL club, we are currently at an out of state tournament and the talk on the sidelines today was NPL. Can someone tell me what is NPL?? My concern is, where is the competition going??

There is a NPL forum that you can check on BOTN or check out the NPL FAQ at https://www.nyclubsoccerleague.com/html/home/faqs.asp

Really? Were you there? Because I was there. They were in the top bracket against the best of the best. They had no bench - 3 subs. The only game they got outmatched (if you happened to watch any of the games - which you didn't), was the final game. The other two, they were competitive. The final game - the opponent's players were bigger faster stronger and had a very deep bench. Some of there players looked like professional women compared to the Mia's. To say they got hammered in all 3 games proves how uninformed and ignorant you are.
