ENY State ODP is completely watered down now and it is a joke. The top ENY players are not even participating in it anymore. It is a joke. State cup is the second joke also, since top teams no longer participate either.

What top teams can you be possibly talking about. East Meadow cant get out of its own way and sounds like a trainwreck starting to happen and Albertson ecnl cant even beat the Nerp team from Albertson.

State is B.S. some good players have left and weak players have taken there spots. Trainining is nothing great, just bragging rights for parents.

BUT E.M. TRAIN WRECK DOES HAVE THE SO CALLED BEST TRAINER ON LONG ISLAND? WITH A TEAM WITH A LOSING RECORD AND PLAYERS AND PARENTS WHO ARE LAUGHING AT HIM. GO ENCL!!!

What "top teams" are you referring to that no longer participate in the state cup?

We know where this is going.....ODP, State Cup is now just trivial, the real players only play ECNL tournaments & games. There is no doubt ECNL has made it's presence known and has totally down graded those 2 groups as mentioned but at the same time it's still about the player. A good player ECNL or not that get's exposure either playing Region 1, ODP or playing at showcase tournaments will be seen. Just because your daughter plays ECNL does not translate into a scholarship. If my daughter plays on a competitive club that plays Region 1, plays ODP and there team plays showcase tournaments then that's better than playing on an ECNL team that's NOT rated in the top 20 of the country. If given the choice which scenario would you choose. BTW, you talk about bragging parents whose daughters play ODP, how about those ECNL parents who look down on everything else.

"But it looks goo on their soccer resume". That is the excuse I keep hearing. And they actually believe more colleges will look at their child because it is on their.

Some good players have left and went where? Or is it possible that the former good player(s), who peaked early in their development and fallen into the background have been replaced by the late-bloomers who are now just hitting their stride?
Remember, Michael Jordan and many other examples in professional sports didn't start playing until late in their HS careers and went on to be Hall-of-Famers.

First of all Alby 96 was always 1 and done in state cup. Em i dont think they ever made the quarters. So what top team are not there anymore. Em and alby the 2 bottom of the age group. PR must want to hide his face when he leaves your games.
