Ranking will be easier in a couple of weeks when the leagues are done and everyone has played the same games and cups finals have been played. I hope no one uses the ranking for tryout preferences as personality fit, trainer, positions available, playing time, cost, is far more important than a team rated 3 or 6 on this list.

NHP is an excellent team, but too inconsistent. I think they are OK where they are. They lost to Merrick 3-0 earlier in the year and have lost to Smithtown and World Class. They also tied Garden City and East Meadow. Merrick has been a bit more consistent.

Kings Park should easily be in the top 3. Commack should also be in the top 10. NHP and Farmingdale overated and should be dropped a few notches.

Massapequa wins out -

Some very surprising results at Massapequa this weekend:
Mass lost 2-0 to NY Soccer Club and tied Scarsdale, both Westchester teams.
NHP tied NY Soccer Club and squeaked out a win vs Scarsdale.
Northport X-Treme lost to Scarsdale and Somers.
Seems like the gap between LI and Westchester has narrowed a bit. Thoughts anyone?

Massapequa beat scarsdale 3 to 0 for state cup only 2 weeks ago. Possible scarsdale had guest players for tournament

Teams at this age who are powerhouses at 9v9 may not have the stamina, experience, or personel to be as successful on a full field with an 11v11 formation just yet. Different tactically, different stamina requirements, larger goal, different game. And most teams playing 9v9 carrying a small roster did not have many subs for the 11v11 full field and the heat and hunidity. Saw it all weekend. Players were pooped! Academies have the roster sizes and take more kids to the 11v11 tournaments. The format gave the trainers and coaches a chance to see what the big field would be like, which kids could handle it, and gauge needs for next season. Unless you are in a club entering the NPL which at U12 plays 8v8 for consistency with the rest of the country at U12, it was a good preview for full field play next season.
