First round of state cup is the same weekend as Jeff Cup?

Happens almost every year - the premier teams in the Jefferson Cup that are facing LIJSL teams (who are not interested in the Jefferson Cup) annually have a challenge in getting their games scheduled at a mutually agreeable time.

I do not think LIJ or ENY allow schedule changes for teams to go to the Jefferson Cup. Someone who has experienced this should reply and either confirm or deny my comment.

Oh yes they do!!! Happened to my team last year. We had to reschedule our very first LI Cup game.

what about the State Cup? Can you reschedule that game also? Anyone?

Maybe it's the State Cup...I do remember last year or the year before when teams were opting out of both LI Cup & State Cup to play the Jeff Cup. Maybe the "government" got a message?

In order to reschedule the State Cup game, both teams need to agree to play before the scheduled date. Therein is the rub in that the local (LIJSL) team will often produce conflicts which creates the scheduling problem for the premier team. Most often, we see this happen in one or two games each season.

We can remember an Albertson team several years back that played on a Friday night, traveled to Virginia overnight, and played in the Jefferson Cup starting in the morning. (Needless to say, Albertson took no prisoners against the LIJSL team.)

Wait - it is highly unlikely that an LIJSL team that was participating in the Long Island Cup would also have been accepted to the Jefferson Cup.

Are you telling us that your Long Island Cup game was rescheduled for a State Cup game that was moved due to a premier team playing at Jefferson? That seems the more likely scenario.
