True enough that one player on Hicks is outstanding but as an all star team you are discounting the rest of their kids skill level in a comparison to your town team. Think about a team stacked with your town’s team #1 and #2 players all over the field and while you might not lose 8-0 it will not be as close at all. Brazil did a good job of marking but they also had another seven girls on the field to play the rest of the Hicks players while a town team does not have the depth past the third player to play at this level at U10.

The real question is does a “star” take away from the development of the rest of the excellent players on a team?

About as intresting and as useless in playing 8-0 games but at least the gas costs $5 to get to the field and not $50 plus the sleepover last night!

The best defense is a good offense, the coaches daughter puts so much pressure on the other team that their defense is probably untested. You take her off the team and the ball would be in their zone alot more resulting in more scoring chances. If you don't think 1 player could make that much of a difference ask the Colts how they are doing without Peyton Manning.

Manning does not have an all star cast behind him but Hicks does. You must feel that your players are somewhat of a match against the Hicks #2-8 kids but that is not the case at all for a town team. Brazil was sucessful as they had the depth and while they do not have a star they also beat most town teams by five.

That hixksville team isn't an all-star cast the one girl is the team and they would have loses on there record without her spare everyone with your false lies if the parents were smart they take there kids out of there so there kid might get some touches on the ball.

Your comment doesnt make sense. Pulling the other girls form that team so they can get touches? Doesn't development come from working and getting pushed to best of your ability. DOnt you think that those girls practice against each other, and when you are playing what everybody seems to say is one of the better girls, your best comes out.

Some of the original on Hicksville look like they aren't developing like others. They have other stardom the team but they will never get noticed.

So the question becomes , why isn't the coach's daughter playing up on a first level team so that she can be more challenged and continue to develop.

Yea it was, Brazil tied on Saturday 0-0, and Sunday won first game 5-0, lost second game 3-2 (I think) and won third game 4-3. The third game was a great game by both teams.
