I would be surprised if Syosset finished top 3 by the end of the summer.
They will certainly have their work cut out for them against West Islip this weekend and even though they are at home I think they will lose 2-1.

I do not think I have seen West Islip play, but West Islip would need to be the top team in SM by a wide margin to win this game. Syosset beat Commack easily, and Commack just tied Smithtown. Is West Islip that much better than Smithtown, Commack and Bay Shore?

From an overall skill/development perspective, I don't believe any team in LIJSL is at their level yet. I have seen Syosset play a bunch of times and quite enjoyable to watch. However, I will agree that there are teams like Elmonth/Levit that can beat them especially at this age where the kick and run style is effective.

Syosset missing two key players this weekend including their goalkeeper.
West Islip have a good chance at upsetting the odds on Saturday.

Joker from Syosset, if you think Elmont plays kick and run you havent watched too many soccer games in your life. Elmont plays the smartest most skilled game of soccer at this age group by a wide margin. Yes GC beat them by scoring early and putting the entire team back on defense to hold on. A lesson that taught their kids absolutely nothing. I do agree Syosset is the 2nd best team, but not in the same class as Elmont.

Agreed. You can out-athlete Syosset, but the teams that have beaten them also have some of the better skilled players in this age group. You need a bit more than athletes that can kick and run. We will know more about SM after this weekend when we see who is left in the LI Cup.

Joker from Elmont - your team is a kick and rush outfit with little passing ability and I have been watching soccer for many years!
I do not think Elmont has the most skilled game in this group and certainly not by a wide margin.
Perhaps you need to look at your games closer?

That could be a factor in a number of games this weekend.

Have you seen Levittown play? So much more then a kick and run team. Has a few well skilled players and the few that aren't make up for it with their athletesism.

Yes. I have seen them play. Agree with you that they have some very skilled players. They have more than a few great athletes. You can't say they have a ball control strategy right now.
