First of all that is not what happen all he did was take the ball away from him. The referee even saw the all thing.

Northshore was losing and it was getting late in the game and the ball was kicked out of bounds. The older gentlemen (one of Albertson's girls Grandfather) retrieved the ball from the woods but apparently didnt do it quick enough for the NorthShore United coach. The Northshore coach came from the side of Grandpa and tried his hardest to pull the ball out of Grandpa's hand. Grandpa held tight because he had no idea what was happening. Then the Northshore coach actually punched Grandpa square in the chest forcing Grandpa to drop the ball.
Mr Debennetto,Northshore coach, you sir, are a coward and have no right to ever be on a soccer field again. Even the ref saw it.
Also the same Northshore coach was yellow carded earlier in the match.
LIJSL better discipline this excuse of a man. Imagine your coach punching a senior citizen???
Then I hear from another team that was playing next that this same person acts the same way in basketball..
Why do coaches and I guess parents for that matter, allow these types of parents to stay on the team??
LIJSL, PLEASE ADDRESS THIS........

We've run into this A*&hole too. He thinks he's a tough guy so he can yell and scream at everyone. Forget about coaching, he shouldn't be allowed to even go to his daughter's basketball and soccer games.

You are just as stupid to believe that if a coach hit someone in the field, that he wouldn't be thrown out of the game. Duh Duh

If this happened it is a clear case of assault. Someone should have called 911. The senior citizen should press charges. Sounds like there were plenty of witnesses. He should file a police report. If the Referee saw it, he should have red carded the Coach. The least of this Coaches problem is what the league can do. He should be charged criminally since there is no excuse for striking ANYONE during a soccer game.

Considering that the parents and coaches are on opposite sides of the field, how exactly did the coach and grandpa end up next to each other?

It was at Soccer Park where players and parents are on the same side. The Ref did see it and screamed at the coaches for a few minutes. They didn't call 911 because it wasn't like he wound up and punched the guy in the face. It was a crazy coach who was, as usual for him, too amped up and got too aggressive ripping the ball away from grampa.

This whole story doens't make sense...I was there and saw the whole thing. first of all grandpa didn't get punched inthe face that is a total fib. secondly, he was trying to kill time holding the ball since it was a tight game. He is no angel and should have never gotten involoved so his little grand daughter's team can win that was a desperate act on behalf of this grandpa. Stay home old man!

we all know albertson and those crazy parents...I can bet anyone $100 that this story is totally exaggerated. now they are playing the victim. no one is falling for it albertson. keep the parents as far back from the orange line so they don't try their old tricks again! Just to WIN! totally pathetic!
