Is W Babylon a town team or an do they have kids from all over?

What D1 & D2 teams are 'town' teams?

All kids are recruited by the coach who is an ODP and Rough Rider coach. His son used to play in Sayville/Bayport but not sure why they left. Decent team in same age group in Bayport so why leave?

Playing Devil's advocate here. Why has it always been ok for girls to play on boys teams but never the other way around ? Even say in a Guest Player capacity it is not allowed. Now most fathers/parents probably couldn't handle the thought of their son being the only boy on a girls team which I get but it wouldn't even be considered by anyone anyway is my point. This isn't the dark ages and I honestly feel that woman are definitely the stronger of the two genders with all they can juggle and do compared to men (sorry guys, just my opinion and yes, I'm a man) and there shouldn't even be this discussion because bottom line is if the player in question is equal or stronger then the boys her own age then that is all that should matter, I'm just bringing up the double standard that has always existed.

I agree about the double standard, it should be allowed but it is not!

My sons team played a team with a girl on it and the problem I saw was some of the boys that usually play very physical did not. She was a good player but some boys had a problem going in hard for a 50/50 ball against her. I also think if your going to allow it one way it should be allowed both ways. Why does it say BU and not just U?

What is the real problem of a girl playing on a boys team? Is it the boys or is the parents who object? I don't think the boys should and don't feel threatened.

In this case which I have looked into, what I am told is that this girl is an excellent player...she can not stay with this team past this year or next. If the girl is showing up your boy then she is showing up your boy. Sometimes girls and women are better at something than their male counterpart whether it be sports or business.

I suggest you parents deal with this young lady in a positive light and instill that positive attitude towards her for boys sake, so when they have a female boss or superior in later life they will be better equipped to understand and handle the situation.

You go girl who ever you are!!

We are a Div N1 team looking to participate in a Winter League. Does anyone know of any leagues that have 2 sessions as we would be looking to participate in the latter half that would hold games on Sundays as many of our boys participate in other sports on Saturdays?

There is A LOT of truth to the point the poster brings up on how boys approach playing against girls. Think about what we tell our sons when it comes to interacting with girls. NEVER EVER hit a girl, NEVER, be nice to girls etc. Now go out there and play against them. It DOES create confusion. My son's team played against an entire girls team and the coach who had experience in such cases knew he had to get the point across that the boys weren't playing against girls, that they were opponents that wanted to beat them like any other team. All the things us parents tell you about being nice to girls, forget that once you step over that white line. Play them like you would anyone else, no different otherwise you're going to lose and then you are going to feel even worse because you didn't play the way you know how. Dispute it all you want but even young boys have a pyshcological dilema when put in those situations. NOT at all saying it should never happen, simply pointing out it is a valid issue that needs to be addressed with them to help them understand the situation

YES CJ!!!!!!!! Well said. Our son had a girl on his team also . It actually made the boys play harder when they felt anyone went in for an overly hard tackle on her. She earned the spot and deserved the spot and everyone out there knew it.

Yes, and I am sure they thought every time someone went in for a tackle it was "overly hard" in your boys eyes, that is moronic. If she is so good that she totally skews the talent pool in the girls league she should play with the boys, if not she should play with the girls.

since when did the coaching responsibility become a democratic
process. a coach asking 11yo boys or worse yet their parents if he should take (boy or girl) on the team? at tghe tryouts, did he confer with the parents to see which boys to select? if not, why would he start now?
