The answer is obvious. A well coached team would have pulled back and have the kids work on their passing skills, play the ball back, play keep away, make them pass the ball 3 times before moving the ball past mid field and work on their cross passes. At this age it's about training and learning soccer skills and fundamentals. That is what a good coach trainer would insist on their kids doing but not this team and not on the Island where it's always about winning, scoring and making the parents happy.

The answer is simple "Just kick & run" and win today.

I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of teams around the tri state area from the ages of u10-u12 and SHB and Hicksvile probably rank in the top 7 right now. But of course that means nothing because the better trained teams and clubs will dominate by u14. I'm curious if any one can name a top team in the region outside of long Island. I would bet that most of us cannot! The truth of the matter is that any team that is consider so called premier at this age is an accomplishment but lets not make it bigger than it actually is.

I would say that SHB is probably on the better long term track because the coach is seeking out competition outside the confines of LI.

When you say Tri-State area can you be more specific? Also are you saying these 2 U-10 teams can beat most U-12 teams? Just curious, if these 2 teams are in the top 7, who are the other 5 clubs.

No - a good u 12 team would play keep away with these two teams. But that does'nt matter.. what do you think Hicksville would do to a premier u8 team.

How about the team from Buffalo West NY u10.

How about a team from Toms River NJ u10..

How about the Premier strikers and Penn legacy black from Pa.

FC Rage Nj.

There are so many good teams that will blossom in the coming years.

Lets not even talk about the PDA NJ

Point is -its way too early to crow..lets just enjoy the development in the coming years!

Playing in JAGS will definitely be a reality check as to the progress of the teams soccer skills. The competition is more competitive than the Island and the scores will reflect that as well. Long Island teams do not like leaving the confines of their own league at this age to compete so a big plus to the coach & especially the parents who are for this move. This will benefit the progress of the club in the long run.

Agreed.(SHB) In doing this the coach is looking down the line and has the long term interest of his players in mind. They will do well in Jags as they are a very good team but when they do face a better team, They will know what adjustments they will have to make to make their team even better!

why is it when a team is good everyone has to rip them apart?? the Hicksville team is a great bunch of girls who play great soccer and have a great time "socializing together"
