What is interesting is that East Meadow put FC Somers (President League Champions) in the second flight and placed themselves in the top flight. Maybe afraid of someone beating them in their own tournament.

Also why was Massapequa Mavericks, Smithtown Galaxy, RVC and even NY Hota placed in the top flight over FC Somers?

Good Luck East Meadow in your own tournament, the path is clear for a championship!

Well i thought it was gonna be a good tournament. Just give yourself the trophy. Maybe someone would like to explain why Somers was put in the 2nd flight. Love to hear this one.

They switched some teams around to pave the way, apparently. The top flight really is not very strong--only team besides East Meadow that is a top tier team is Hota. Smithtown beat the Westfield team at Massapequa (in a weak bracket), and we all saw how Massapequa looked in Super Y. Unfortunately the tourney did not attract a lot of strong teams from LI or out of state.

If you look at their ranking on gotsoccer, they are ranked 33 in NYE, massapequa ranked 7, hota-9, em-11, smithtown-17, and rvc 34. Maybe that had something to do with the placement of team? don't really know, just guessing.

I did not see a Massapequa team in Super Y. Calling Met Oval Massapequa is like calling the RR Team East Meadow. I'm sure the RR team had some Massapequa players on it for Super Y. The RR team did well in Super Y because the core kids have been together for 3 years. Here's an idea, let's see how the games play out. Obviously your team is not playing so how about keeping your mouth shut.

I really hope Massapequa will put the breaks on dealing with the Met Oval. Jim Vogt, the used car salesman of youth soccer, has been able to manipulate Massapequa for his agrandizment. Massapequa needs to foucus their sites higher than SYL. Jim Vogt needs the Massapequa fields and player pool. If there was an upside to Massapequa dealing with Jim I sure missed it and I know many others did and do also.

C'mon Massapequa, get back to the glory daze as you have a lot of friends with a lot of friends that are willing help you. Just leave Jim Vogt home.

that is why you dont look at the got soccer points. it is not accurate. why dont you look at common opponents and past results and you will see that fc somers belongs in top flight. they are a very good team that does not play in alot of tournaments or tournaments that get got soccer points. got soccer is a money making business. they beat east meadow 2-1 in president league.
