You are wrong. What you describing is not a a state cup or a state cup.

So for U-11 this year there will be multiple divisions of the Challenge Cup 2012 that I signed my team up for?

I spoke to ENYSSA and they told me that for the BU-11 level there is a single knockout competition for all teams registered, this year is sort of a trial run for U-10 and U-11 so obviously this can change but for not these age levels are not adhering to the way the older groups play which is State Cup for high level teams and Challenge Cup for lower divisional teams.

You sure you got that correct? I can agree when the teams are U10 and starting out for the first year but at U11, a D1 team can possibly play a D8 team, where is the justice in that? You might as well not join it with a lower division team maybe that is the goal?

Before the Cups are split by ability, you can draw anyone. There are always 10-0 games in the first year of state cup. Usually have teams from the same town playing each other A vs. B or C.

Larry,
Do you know anything about this? What are these guys talking about? What is your idea on the U11 State Cup? There is way too much controversy and conflict of information here.

No contraversy just a lot opf people who don't know what they are talking about. This is the first year for U11 so it's not like the others. There is only one competition available and it's open to all. At U12 and up there are two options, one for D1 and D2 and the other for D3 and below. The person who spoke to ENY State is correct.

This is what I said, I spoke to the office and that is what they said, U-10 and U-11 last minute effort so was made an open draw, for U-12 will revert to the normal format.

a lot of rumors going around. I heard that 2 D1 nassau teams are already talking about taking their top kids and combining for Fall while grabbing a few kids from a third team. Crazy, hope just a rumor but let's see which teams start adding a lot of guest players at tournaments and other venues. This is going to leave a lot of kids scrambling for teams to play on come June.

That's too bad. Should not be this way at U 11, but the switch to a big field and larger roster requires good teams to add players to be competitive. If they don't, their best players look to leave. Care to elaborate as to which two teams may be merging? I would eliminate farmingdale, as I am sure they will add some players, but doubt they would merge with anyone. Hota would be my guess; maybe Albertsen.
