Agreed. Both are terrific teams and it should be a close match but I would give the edge to Syosset. They seem more consistent against the top teams.

Hopefully, they send the best LIJ ref for this game above all games!!! ;0)

The game for first place in the division has to be game of the week even with the terrific LI Cup matchup. Elmonts been on a roll but they also played Thursday. Does that give Levittown the egde? Nice capper to a great season.

With regards to the dirt fields, I thought that was one of the reasons other countries develop better players. The kids learn to play on nasty dirt fields. Brazil being one prime example.

Very tough to beat Elmont on their home dirt field. Fits their style of play perfectly. Very solid and athletic team. But will they stay together next year?

Good point. Why play on playable grass fields or on turf? In order for our kids to really develop all games through college should be played on uneven, pitched, bumpy, dirt fields with that kick up dust throughout the game as the patches of uncut grass add just a little more excitement to the game. That way our kids won't need to learn to how to move the ball effectively or sting passes together. We'll show them!

Regarding bumpy fields, sounds like someone is nervous. Bumpy fields creates great touches. Look at Brazil, heck for all you baseball fans, look at the short stops from DR. Maybe, we could ask Elmont if we could practice on their fields. We certainly need to improve to match our Adidas track suits. Our fathers look good in those suits.

You people are seriously delusional. Always complaining about crappy fields. A poor excuse. A real soccer player can play anywhere especially at 10 years old. So what is the reason for loss of a game when weather is bad (rain, snow etc)???

Why is the BU9 East Islip team claiming to be the 2012 NY Cup Champions? Brentwood has that title East Islip played in the silver division (division 2). Get it right East Islip you chose to play in a lower division and now you want credit for the top spot! Get it right!

They are putting it out there to try and get kids coming over. Coach is a typical arrogant coach trying to build a superstar team @ the age of 10 along with many other clubs, typical parent coach for this age group. Stay away from coaches like that.

Come on. They won at their level. The competition wasn't as good but they won and can call themselves champs. The coach isn't lying when he says this. Maybe a bit misleading, but parents can always check the website to see what he's talking about. Can't fault a guy for trying to attract kids to his team.

No the parents dont check the web sites hes an ass! he should state the truth, Silver Division Champions, they beat a U8 team in the final! Just state the truth and stop misleading! Dont get me wrong they have a good team he just has to be honest. East Islip will face the true NY Cup Champions in the final of the LI Cup. If they win then the coach can brag.
