Between WAGS and Kirkwood we've accounted for most of the GU16 (Premier and D1) teams. Did Northport or Stony Brook play this weekend? Any news from these two teams?

Is it too early to ask about where everyone/anyone is playing this winter? Indoor leagues? Tournaments?

"Just trying to keep the conversation lively!" (Bonus points if you can name the movie that quote comes from)

Good job to the two U-15 teams for coming in 1st and 2and but you are playing LIJSL in the fall most of the better teams are not there. You are playing D-2 or D-3 teams.Still good job but dont be braging about it.When we talk U-15 its not LGD or Brentwood used to be EI.Its Albertson,EM and MASS. or even Smithtown. So good luck in the Spring.

Hey GU16,

CJ, Boardlord, and 3 Soccer Players have all signed in on this thread, so I'm going to post under my name (rather than my usual "Anonymous" posts) so that everyone "knows" who said what.....

that said...

I've been reading/following this thread (in all it's previous incarnations) since my daughter was about 12. I've tried to use it for discussions, questions, information, try outs, etc.

I've posted several times since we restarted it this fall (always trying to be positive, trying to "keep the conversation lively", etc.).

that said....

Whoever you are, (and you know who you are), negative posting "Anonymous" guy (or gal), just stop.

Stop coming on to post negative comments, denigrating teams, players, 15-16 year old girls who continue to play this game for love, fun, competition, excitement, pleasing their mom's and dad's, or just trying to "pad" their vitae for college. For whatever reason they play, just be happy they're playing. Be happy they're healthy, not hanging out on the corner, at the mall, quiting to pursue boys, or drugs, or softball, or fashion, or lax, or whatever all the girls who played this game as 10 to 12 year olds have left to pursue.

I apologise for a rambling response. I still look at this thread whenever something new is posted. My daughter has had the priviledge to play with, guest play with, try out with, and compete with, some of the finest girls playing this game on Long Island (not to mention this region). I love soccer and few things make me happier than watching her play.

I can't wait til the Spring. I'm looking forward to more competitive games, more tournaments, more travelling to fields near and far to watch my child, my heart, play the most beautiful game, to see her play hard and win, or lose, or tie (heehee), and come off the field hungry for a bagel.

Einstein once said "Time is all relative...an hour next to a pretty girl on a park bench can pass in a minute, while a minute on a hot stove can feel like an hour." I cannot believe that my child, my once soccer squirt who loved "stuck in the mud" and Rugrats, is nearing the end of high school.... Relish this time my friends, soon they'll be off to college and we'll all be wondering what to do on our cold Sunday afternoons in late fall and early spring...

See you all in the Spring!

Depends on your measurement of not faring well.

Showcase events that see you lose 2-1 with fifty invited college coaches on the sidelines at CASL/Raleigh are worth significantly more than 6-1 wins attended by five coaches. At the end of the day, it was not the record on the board that is the ultimate measure of these showcases, but how many players are connected to the schools of their dreams.

Now, you can continue to discuss records/performances, but do so against the background that BOTN Industries has suggested.
